My entry for the "Molester Deterrence Badge" is designed to be strong, stylish and impactful. I designed the female's face to be front-facing and confrontational to prevent a pervert from acting illegally. Pop-culture themed colours were used to appeal to young females as well as demand attention from everyone riding the subway. The bright colour scheme will encourage awareness and recognition throughout Japan quickly. The composition is centered to create a memorable and striking design that depicts it's message primarily through illustration. The theme is then reinforced through the text.

I am an illustrator from New Zealand who has been living in Tokyo, Japan since April this year. I safely and comfortably ride the Marunouchi line everyday. As an outsider, I am very impressed by the convenience and reliability of the Tokyo Metro service. When I discovered this campaign to prevent molestation I felt compelled to create a design. It saddens me that females do not feel safe while using Tokyo's excellent public transport service. I feel everyone should should be safe and secure while riding the metro!
